Peshawar police foil bid to smuggle arms to Punjab

Peshawar police foiled a bid to smuggle a huge cache of weapons to Punjab, and arrested four culprits here on Wednesday.
According to details, the city police received a secret tip that a large quantity of weapons will be smuggled to Punjab through Peshawar. Upon getting the information the police started snap checking at check posts in Peshawar and surrounding area. During the search of a car in Matni area, the police recovered arms and ammunition hidden in secret chambers of the vehicle.
The recovered weapons included 24 Kalashnikovs, 15 repeaters, two Kalakovs, seven pistols and 8,000 bullets of different bores.
The police arrested four culprits present in the car, and started investigation.
