A local Islamabad court dismissed an application seeking the registration of a case against Mansoor Ijaz in a police station.
According to a private television channel, Additional Session Judge Syed Wajahat Hasan announced the ruling over a petition pleading the court to register in a police station a case against American-Pakistani Businessman Mansoor Ijaz, the person who triggered turmoil in national politics by unveiling the Memogate scandal.
The petitioner Khalid Javed filed an application on January 7 in the court of Wajahat Hussain for the registration of an FIR against Mansoor Ijaz.
The court concerned had sought a report from the secretariat police station house officer (SHO), but the police did not file any reply.
The petition was filed by workers of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), who contended that the court should direct the police to file a case against Ijaz for his alleged role in inciting people against the government and in harming the image of Pakistani state institutions.

  1. Mr Khalid Javed is extremely innocent. He must understand that Mansoor Ijaz is currently blue eyed boy of our Establishment. How can any institution go against him? All of us know, the same Establishment killed Saleem Shehzad but the Supreme Court Judge heading the Commission to probe his murder could not dare to point his finger at them.
