Former envoy to Saudi Arabia, Umer Khan Ali Sher Zai, announced on Tuesday that he is joining the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) following the “realistic” and “practical” ideology of party chief Altaf Hussain.
Zai, who hails from Kurram Agency, while speaking at a press conference at the party’s headquarters Nine-Zero, said he has read the manifestos of several political parties and evaluated the characters and actions of their leaders.
“I have no hesitation in saying that Altaf Hussain is the only leader who is sincerely and staunchly following a realistic and practical ideology,” he said
“Altaf Hussain can provide internal and external security for the country and raise the stature of the country at the international level. He can also open the avenues for progress and prosperity that can realise the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Shaheed-e-Millat Khan Liaquat Ali Khan and the poet of the East Allama Iqbal,” he remarked.
“If anyone has raised his voice against the outdated medieval feudal system in the country, it is the MQM. We have also seen that it is only Altaf Hussain who always expresses positive views and opinions about the country and for strengthening democracy. The MQM also stressed the need for the policy of reconciliation.”
The former envoy said he believes that the MQM is the only political party of the country that can provide economic, social, and democratic stability.
“It can also take steps for securing the interests of the 98 percent people of the country instead of working for protecting the interests of the two percent privileged class,” he added.
“The MQM has evolved into a strong political party and appeal is increasing rapidly throughout the country. The leadership of Altaf Hussain is being praised throughout the country. The manner in which the MQM chief looks after his workers is highly commendable.”
Zai said the MQM is a reality and it is a patriotic political party. “The conspiracies and injustices committed against the MQM are temporary and they will come to an end. The MQM will emerge as the largest political party of the country and the elements conspiring against the party will only end up frustrated,” he added.
He said Pakhtuns and Urdu-speakers are brothers. “I will work for eliminating the misunderstandings and hatred between the Pakhtuns and Mohajirs and I will also work for spreading the message of the MQM throughout the country. The MQM is no longer a party of Sindh only. A large number of the people living in the tribal areas will soon join the MQM,” he added.
Zai said he thanks the MQM chief on behalf of all the people of the tribal areas for presenting the resolution for the creation of the Kabailistan province.
“I have full confidence in the leadership of Altaf Hussain and hence I announce joining the MQM along with hundreds of my fellows. I assure that I will work as a humble worker for the progress and prosperity of the country and the nation. I will appeal to the people of Pakistan to gather information about the manifestos of all religious and political parties of the country and after analyzing the character, lies, deceit and contradictory statements of their leaders, join the party that can provide security and stability to the country and I am sure that party would be the MQM,” he concluded.
