Army is subordinate to PM: Yasin

Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Yasin Azad on Wednesday said that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and DG ISI Ahmed Shuja Pasha did not follow the right procedure for filing their replies in the court, a private TV channel reported.
Speaking to media representatives, Azad said that army was subordinate to prime minister under the constitution.
He said that the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will be welcomed in the apex court on January 19.
Commenting on national politics, the SCBA president said that the country and the political parties lack absolute democracy.

  1. Army is supposed to be subordinate to civil government and must behave as obedient servants. Alas, this is not the reality. We, the poor civilians, work very hard to pay for all the perks of top military brass and yet all we get in return is insubordination. We do everything to enable them defend our territorial sovereignty but they are only concerned with perpetuating their political domination.

  2. Yes he is right it sould be rule of law rather than rule of army law.
    Parliament should be the source of pweo rather than aabpara industry.
