Zardari, PPP laud Gilani’s decision to appear in SC

Some federal ministers and senior leadership of PPP in a meeting held Monday night in the Presidency reviewed in-depth the current situation.
The meeting, chaired by Co-Chairman of PPP President Asif Ali and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, discussed ways and means of overcoming the challenges faced by the party and the government.
Those who were present during the meeting included Faryal Talpur , Senator Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Senator Rehman Malik, Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Makhdoom Shahabuddin, Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Dr Babar Awan, Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, Senator Jahangir Badar, Senator Faisal Raza Abidi, Senator Sardar Ali Khan, Mr. Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed khan, Ms. Rukhsana Bangash, Ms Fouzia Habib, Ms. Mehreen Anwar Raja and Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar.
Briefing about the meeting, Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said that the meeting lauded the announcement made by the Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on the floor of the House to appear before the Supreme Court in response to the notice on Thursday, January 19.
The meeting said that the party will stand behind the prime minister in adopting a stance that is correct, respectful and constitutional.
The meeting also appreciated the support extended to the leaders of the government and the Party by all coalition partners and thanked them for it.
The meeting reiterated confidence in the leadership of Co Chairman President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
