King Abdullah’s Relief Campaign for Pakistani People (KARCPP) will provide funds amounting to US$ 1.6 million to UNICEF to provide clean drinking water to nearly 84,000 flood-hit people of Balochistan. According to the KARCPP Regional Director Dr Khalid M. Al-Othmani, a Memorandum of Understanding has already been signed in Riyadh between KARCPP and UNICEF. He said the rehabilitation projects will be initiated in 10 districts of Balochistan and will include 76 clean drinking water supply schemes. These water supplies were damaged during the 2010 floods that hit almost all parts of Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention here that KARCPP has done a lot of work since the start of the campaign for providing relief to the people affected by the floods of 2010 and 2011. The donations provided by the Saudi Government and the people of the Kingdom are being utilised transparently to improve the lives of the flood-affected people.
