Father kills son over mother’s funeral expenses

Imtiaz Gulzar, 29, resident of Yousaf Park, Sherakot, was gunned down by his father Gulzar over monetary issues in the Sherakot Police Area on Monday.
Sherakot Police arrested Gulzar and recovered the murder weapon from his possession. Police said Imtiaz was living with brother Iqbal. Two other brothers were living with father Gulzar in separate houses located few yards away from each other. About 5 months ago, Imtiaz’s mother died naturally and Imtiaz’s two brothers, who were living with his father, bore all funeral expenses.
While Imtiaz and his brother Iqbal want to share funeral expenses, the other two brothers refused to take money and a scuffle started. On Monday, Imtiaz exchanged harsh words with his father Gulzar over the same issue after which Gulzar brought out a 12-bore shotgun and shot Imtiaz in the head. Imtiaz died instantly. Locals informed police upon hearing the gunshots, who removed the body to Mayo Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police arrested Gulzar and seized the murder weapon. Police registered a case against Gulzar on the complaint of the deceased’s brother and started investigations. Gulzar confessed the murder to police and claimed Imtiaz used to abuse him over non-issues and that was the reason he killed him.
Man kills wife: Separately, Zaka ullah, resident of Mohra Sharif in Sherakot, shot dead his wife, Shumaila, over domestic issues in the Sherakot police area. Shumaila had married her cousin, Zaka, three years ago while Shumaila’s brother married Zaka’s sister. Zaka was used to fight with his wife regularly. Shumaila went to see her father on the day of incident, who was sick and admitted in a local hospital. When she returned to home, Zaka asked her to change and get ready to go somewhere with their two daughters. When Shumaila refused, a fight began, and a brief exchange of harsh words, Zaka brought his gun and shot Shumaila, who died instantly. Zaka managed to escape. Locals informed police who removed her body to the morgue and began investigations.
