University of Health Sciences (UHS) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Malik Hussain Mubashar on Monday called for equipping the government officials with an ability to can deal with public affairs at the local level with local solutions. He was addressing a 12-member delegation of probationary officers from Civil Services Academy Lahore who visited UHS. Prof Mubashar said the civil servants held a controlling position in the administrative structure of the country, adding that they must be able to take timely and fair decisions in the interest of the public, which was the hallmark of good governance. Meanwhile, the under-training officers also visited the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore, where the board chairman, Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik, briefed them on the hurdles faced byt the candidates in the last year’s examinations.
