WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS!

Light shower sessions with chill breezes in the metropolitan of Punjab kept the weather of the city pleasant all day on Sunday. Short shower spells started off on early Saturday evening and stretched till late Sunday night. Adding to that, the city also stayed in the grip of a cool breeze. According to the met office more rain is expected in the city and that the rain spell is to last till late Wednesday night. “It shall remain partially cloudy till midweek and the city would witness short spells of rain for the coming 3 more days,” said Umsan, a meteorologist. He said the wind chill shall contribute to dropping the temperature as the city was currently under a spell of cool winds which is said to sustain till the end of this month. “We need more rains,” he added.
A total of 13mm rain was recorded including all short spells across the city. The temperature of the cool breezes according to the met office was 10 Celsius while minimum remained at 2 Celsius. The Met Office predicted more rain with snowfall over the hills, over upper parts of the country. Met Office informed that a westerly wave is likely to approach western parts of the country on Friday night. Under the influence of this westerly wave scattered rain with snowfall over the hills is expected over northeast Balochistan (Zhob, Quetta, Kalat divisions) on Friday night and Saturday. While scattered rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions) , Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Islamabad.
More snowfall is also predicted over the hills of Murree and Galliyat.
