The city police on Monday claimed to have arrested twelve outlaws during different operations, for their alleged involvement in various crimes. According to the police, the nabbed were involved in dacoities, possessing fake currency and bootlegging. Police said that a stolen car, nine liqueur bottles and looted items worth hundreds of rupees were recovered from their possession. Kohsar police arrested Nazar Shah and Hafiz Ullah and recovered stolen mobiles and other valuables worth Rs 40,000 from them. In a separate strike Kohsar police Sub-Inspector Falak Sher nabbed two thieves Adnan Ahmed and Sajid and recovered stolen items from them.
Sihala police Sub-Inspector Anar apprehended a dacoit Mehmud Hussain alias Shehzad and recovered a 32-bore pistol from him. His accomplices Aamir Razaq and Liaqat Ali were nabbed earlier and retrieved looted items, including gold ornaments, cash and mobile phones from their possession. Shehzad Town police arrested Fiaz Ahmed and Naseer and recovered fake currency worth Rs 3,000 from them, while Ansar Masih was arrested for possessing nine liqueur bottles. In another strike, the Shehzad Town police arrested Waseem Ahmed for possessing a 30-bore pistol. The Anti-Car Lifting Cell arrested Ehsan Shah and Qayum and recovered a car (LWO-9960) stolen from the Lahore Defence police precincts. Sabzi Mandi police station Sub-Inspector Haider Ali arrested Nek Badshah on charges of possession of 170 grams of opium. Cases have been registered against the people arrested and further investigation is underway.
