The Punjab Social Security Doctors Association provincial council announced on Saturday that it will hold protests at all the social security hospitals of the province on January 19. The association also gave a 3-day ultimatum to the social security department officials to give Health Professional Allowance (HPA) to the 1800 doctors employed in the Social Security hospitals. A complete strike was announced if the association’s demand was not met. The Pakistan Medical Association and the Young Doctor’s Association announced full support for the Social Security hospital doctors.
