Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hasan on Sunday said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government has failed to deliver during the last four years and put the country in the middle of numerous internal and foreign challenges. Addressing a public gathering at G/9 Markaz, Munawar said, “The PPP has come into power for five times and every time it put the sovereignty of the country in danger. The need of the hour is to bring a revolution before next general elections.” He said no one is ready to invest in Pakistan since gas outages have ruined industries and forced poor into starvation. “If people want to get rid of poverty, unemployment and American slavery, they will have to support our struggle against corrupt leaders,” he said. He alleged the government issued 7,000 illegal visas to Americans who ignited terrorism in the country, adding that chain of drone attacks has started again. He asked the army chief that if the army has power to attack on drones so why does it refrain from doing so? “Without bringing revolution, fair elections are not possible. In 65 years, each time feudal lords and robbers have come into power through elections,” he said. Criticizing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, he said Zardari come into power with support of Nawaz. “The PML-N chief gave Zardari the opportunity to put the country on verge of collapse and is equally responsible for the deteriorating condition of the country,” he said. Other JI leaders participated in the gathering and urged the incumbent government to ensure the availability of gas and electricity or resign at once.
