Law and order in KP improved: Kausar

The law and order situation in the province and FATA has improved compared to almost four years ago, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Barrister Masood Kausar said on Monday. Addressing the Kohat District Bar Association oath administering ceremony for the newly elected cabinet as chief guest at its premises, Kausar said the role and contribution of lawyers’ community due to its involvement in dispensing justice, protecting basic and democratic rights of the people and ensuring rule of law was of vital importance. He said lawyers have remained at the forefront of struggles to protect the rights of people and credit for democracy existing in the country also fell upon lawyers Kausar said the devolution of administrative, financial and political powers under relevant laws from the centre to provinces has strengthened federating units.
He said the Kohat Division contributes a significant share to national natural gas production and oil production had crossed the required volume daily to establish an oil refinery, which was the next priority. He said Kohat Medical Institute has been affiliated with Khyber Medical University while steps to affiliate Kohat Institute of Science and Technology with University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar were underway for the benefit of both institutions.
