Gilani will remain PM: Chandio

Federal Law Minister Maula Bux Chandio said on Monday that Yousaf Raza Gilani will remain the prime minister of Pakistan.
Chandio said further that members of parliament will accompany Prime Minister Gilani when he appears in front of the Supreme Court on January 19.
“All conspiracies against the parliament will fail” Chandio said. Commenting on the call by opposition parties to call early elections, the law minister said the government would announce a schedule when need be.
Earlier, he said the issuance of contempt notice from the Supreme Court (SC) to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, was not an ordinary thing.
He said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would hold consultations over the notice issued by the apex court in National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) Implementation case. Chandio said the government would react over the Supreme Court orders after consultation with the experts. He said whatever would be done would be according to law.
A high level meeting was held in the prime minister’s house following the court orders attended by senior PPP leaders and federal ministers including Raja Pervez Ashraf, Khursheed Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira and others.
