Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has nominated Barrister Hussain Mirza as its candidate for by-poll on his father Dr Zulfiqar Mirza’s abandoned seat of provincial assembly in Badin.
Political activities have been geared up in Badin after the Election Commission’s announcement of the schedule for by-poll on Dr Mirza’s vacated seat.
On the last date of filling papers, 21 candidates, including former provincial minister Pappu Shah, submitted their nomination papers for contesting in the by-poll.
More than 119,000 voters are registered in the constituency of PS-57 Tando Bagho/Badin-3 and the Election Commission has made 116 polling stations for the upcoming by-poll.
