Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday called for the unification of all factions of the Muslim League in Sindh, as he offered his condolences to the family of Pir Sahib Pagara.
Shahbaz said that Pagara’s death had created a void in Pakistani politics which would be difficult to fill. He said that he had come to offer condolences on behalf of the people of Punjab and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. He said Pir Pagara was a great spiritual leader and a prominent politician who made great sacrifices for Pakistan which would be remembered for the time to come.
He refused to respond to the statements of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and said it was time to get rid of a government that had taken the country to the brink of disaster.
The Punjab CM said unemployment and poverty were on the rise while there was no electricity and gas leading to the closure of industries. He said corruption was rampant in the country and it had become difficult for an ordinary person to feed his family.
