Khawja’s appointment was on directives of PM: Qureshi

Former establishment secretary Ismail Qureshi revealed on Saturday that Adnan Khwaja’s appointment was ordered by Nargis Sethi orally and asked to approve later on, media reported.
Ismail Qureshi told a private news channel that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani actually ordered to appoint Khwaja as OGDCL chief while his secretary Nargis Sethi conveyed prime minister’s directives to him.
Qureshi said he told the prime minster about criminal background of Adnan Khwaja, after that his appointment was cancelled.
A five-member special Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa is hearing the case. Meanwhile, Ismail Qureshi was released by the NAB court on Saturday.
The court ordered conditional release of former federal secretary saying that there was no reason to keep him under arrest if he was cooperating in the investigation.
Earlier, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team arrested officer of federal secretary post Ismail Qureshi from Lahore on Friday.
