Army Chief complains about PM’s statement to President

Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani has asked President Asif Zardari to instruct Prime Minister to withdraw his statement to Chinese Media regarding COAS and ISI Chiefs, private TV channel reported on Saturday.
Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani called on President on Saturday evening at Aiwan-e-Sadr before the going to Prime Minister’s House to attend the meeting of Defence Committee of Cabinet. During one-on-one meeting both the top personalities expressed harmony to continue good working relationship between army and political leadership.
President Zardari said, on the occasion that democratic government would keep national security and sovereignty on top in every circumstance and to catering the needs of armed forces would also be ensured.
During the meeting that lasted more than one and half hours , issues relating to Prime Minster’s interview to Chinese media and apprehensions of Corps Commanders on it , stance of Pak Army on memo gate scandal, overall security situation of the country were discussed in detail.
Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani briefed the President Zardari about the professional matters of Pak Army and his recent visit to China.
According to a private TV channel, General Kiyani asked President to instruct Prime Minister to withdraw his statement in which Gillani claimed that Army Chief and DG ISI violated constitution by sending their replies direct to Supreme Court in memo gate case instead of adopting a proper channel.
The Presidential Spokesman Farhat Ullah Babar also confirmed the meeting.

Defence commetti will soon restore american coalation relation,these recent blast will elp both countries to save faces and america will pay huge aid for new revise relations,and also nvr allow masoor ejaz for more disturbance.all institution are full of patriotism,now they should look forward who ever will win pakistan poor people will lose,now sit only only for people reliefs.badly suffered.please please stop confrotation other wise all institution will survive not pakistan,all heads of all institutions some where has done wrong,so please live nd let live god bless you all.

  4. Mr. Gillani's buck has to stop here. He had no business making that statement to the Chinese Press giving the impression that a schism was developing between the state institutions.
    Al national institutions belong to the State and not to the GoP. The Peoples Party had what was known as the 'danda fauj', enabled by the late, great Zulfikar Ali Bhutto against the 'Al Badr' of Jamaat e Islami. Wonder if it still exists, i.e. the danda fauj? Salam
