Karachi police foil terror bid, arrests suspect

Karachi CID police have foiled a terrorism plan on Imam Hussain (RA)’s Chehlum and arrested suspect.
Police said they have arrested a man who was mastermind of the bombing at Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine and seized 50kg explosives and four suicide vests.
Addressing a news conference, Additional IG CID Ghulam Shabbir Sheikh said Muhammad Daud, a member of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban, was arrested from Ittehad Town. He said 50kg explosives, four suicide vests, 10 hand grenades, rocket launcher, two rockets, two klashnikovs, LMG and a thousand cartridges have been recovered from his custody. He said the suspect confessed to having plotted bombings on Imam Hussain (RA)’s chehlum.
