Hollywood super-couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will present an award at this Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, ABCNews.com has confirmed. Both are riding the wave of a stellar year and are nominated for awards at the ceremony.
Pitt has earned raves for his performance as baseball coach Billy Beane in ‘Moneyball’ and is nominated for Best Actor in A Motion Picture Drama. The film, which Pitt produced, is also nominated for Best Motion Picture Drama.
Jolie is nominated for her film ‘In the Land of Blood And Honey’ in the Best Foreign Film category. The Bosnian war film marked Jolie’s directorial debut. Other presenters at Sunday’s ceremony will include Reese Witherspoon, Ashton Kutcher, Salma Hayek and Jake Gyllenhaal.
The presenters’ list was announced as nervous Golden Globe show bosses insisted on a ‘seven second delay’ to rein in the show’s host, tricky Ricky Gervais. The delay lets Dick Clark, the award show’s legendary 83-year-old producer, cut comments about celebs in attendance that are deemed too close-to-the-bone to broadcast.
It comes after Gervais, controversial star of ‘The Office’, upped ratings on the ceremony last year by making digs at A-list stars like Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. The 69th annual Golden Globes are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and recognise outstanding work in television and film.
