198 scouts to help control traffic

198 scouts from various colleges will assist the traffic police in controlling the traffic during the rush hours.
This was stated on Friday by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Ahmed Mubeen while addressing a ‘training and awareness workshop’ for the scouts at a local college. He said the scouts would assist the police on 20 of the city’s roads on which 45 major educational institutions were situated.
Mubeen stated that the activity would help to control the traffic during the opening and closing times of the institutions. He added that the scouts would assist the wardens for half an hour before and after the institutions opened and closed respectively. He asked the citizen to park their vehicles properly to avoid inconveniencing other people. He directed the wardens to lift or fine the vehicles double-parked at markets or in front of the institutions.
Four arrested for
murdering, sodomising youth: Sadar Investigation Police, on Friday, claimed to have arrested four persons accused of murdering an adolescent after sodomising him. A 14-years-old labourer was found dead a week ago in a field near his workplace.
On day of the incident, the deceased had left his workshop to buy diesel on the orders of his employer when unidentified people kidnapped him.
He was later found dead. Nawab Town police registered a case on the complaint of the deceased’s father Maqbool Ahmad. The Investigation Police arrested four boys, Waqar, Imran, Mushtaq and Shahbaz a cousin of deceased, who allegedly killed the victim.
Businessman commits suicide: A businessman committed suicide in the Ghaziabad police precincts on Friday, by taking poisonous pills after he suffered a loss in his business. According to details, the deceased Syed Abrar Hussain a resident of Aziz Palli had settled in Muscat but returned to Pakistan after suffering loses. He committed suicide after failing to revive his business.
Students protest Rescue 1122’s delayed arrival: Traffic flow remained suspended around the Shahdra Town Degree College as college students protested against the late arrival of the Rescue 1122 ambulance that led to an injured man’s death on Friday.
According to details, Mushtaq, a passerby, was injured by a speeding vehicle in Narang Mandi area. Locals brought the injured to Rana Town from where they called Rescue 1122. However the ambulance did not reach Rana Town on time, causing Mushtaq’s death.
No arrests made in WAPDA employee murder: The police on Friday had not identified or arrested any accused of the murder of a WAPDA line superintendent. According to details, 35 year old Hafiz Makhdom, father of three children, was murdered late on Thursday outside his home in the Shadbagh police precincts.
