IGP suspends DSP for abusing authority

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Iqbal on Thursday took serious notice of Qilla Didar Singh Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Shiekh Javed’s involvement in cheating and harassing the owner of a company by misusing the official power. The complainant put up an application before the IGP, complaining against the DSP for involving the entire family by launching seven fake First Information Reports (FIRs) against them. She also claimed that the concerned DSP was supporting the other relatives, who were interested in taking over her legal and profitable business.
While taking serious notice, the IGP immediately appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mubashar Ullah as an inquiry officer. According to the fact finding report of the concerned DIG, the Qilla Didar Singh DSP was found to be guilty. The IGP suspended the said DSP and ordered him to report to the Police Headquarter (PHQ), Lahore, with immediate effect. Meanwhile, Punjab IGP Javed Iqbal on Thursday issued the transfer/posting orders of Police Officer Kamran Adil, awaiting posting, as Career Planning Assistant Inspector General (AIG) at PHQ, Punjab, against an existing vacancy with immediate effect.
