Pakistan Muslim League Information Secretary Kamil Ali Agha said the rulers of the Punjab, aided by the administrators, were setting new records of corruption in the local bodies. He added that the corruption of Rs 400 million in two of Lahore’s towns was proof of the fact. He stated that if a third party audit was conducted, many corruption incidents would be unearthed. He said no one preferred administrators over elected representatives, adding that the PML had said previously that the local bodies would be corrupted if the administrators were included in them. He stated that the Punjab Assembly was used to terminate the local bodies’ system and that the development work had been affected by the appointment of administrators to the local bodies.
