The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday rejected Election Commission’s plea for more time for preparation of voters’ lists.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary said that law would take its own course if the voters’ lists were not completed by February 23.
While rejecting the EC plea for more time to complete voters’ lists, the chief justice questioned why the work was not completed in two years.
The EC said NADRA needed more time, while NADRA said it could complete its work on time.
The court said it knew how to get the law implemented.
