President Asif Ali Zardari left for Dubai on a private visit for medical checkup amidst hitherto unresolved standoff between the civil and military leaderships.
According to Presidential Spokesman Farhatullah Babar, President Zardari will return to Pakistan within 24 hours.
Addressing the party leaders at Bilawal House a couple of days ago, President Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Karachi Division Senator Faisal Raza Abidi said Zardari is not on the ECL, adding that he is head of the state, hence he can go abroad as and when he wishes so.

  2. CJ please take notice why the head of state going outside for simple medical check ups.? Is he medically and mentally fit to rule the country?

  3. @Ali Zaidi. Are you living in the middle ages. What a sordid mentality people have to hang people in public. Is their rule of law in this country? Probably not. This is why people talk like that. Best thing would be to complain against him in the court of law or impeach him.

  4. Mr Chief Justice. Please calm down. Do not derail the whole set up by your commandments (options)!! Take it easy sir. Mohatrama BB is no more with us and one couldn't care less if there was NRO or no NRO. If PPP has benefited from NRO then they are not alone. There are thousands of criminals belonging to MQM who have been let off the hook and I am sure they were facing charges of heinous crimes. Will you go after MQM. Have you forgotten that it was MQM federal minister who delivered containers to block your entry into Karachi and it was MQM Home Minister of Sindh province who was actively involved in 12th May carnage. It was MQM who besieged the High court and compelled the justices to flee. If you are a Justice then you should deliver justice to every one.

    • Both UK & US observers:

Suffice it to say one at a time.

MQM and PML(N) will pay the price in good time inshAllah.

  5. @ Observer from UK- Agreed it was MQM, in power, and very close to Mush the Bush Poodle, and they blocked Karachi with containers delivered by their powerful federal minister who also happens to hold the same ministry under AZ . It is the same minister under whose watch a fire has broken out by strange coincidence thrice to destroy vital evidence implicating him in massive corruption and disappearance of 90 thousand containers. It is unfortunate that this AZ led PPP has indulged in the worst poor governance, patronized criminals, thugs and robber barons to plunder the national assets, destroy our economy and harm the democratic process. Justice must be done across the board and those amongst the elite be punished for their crimes, if democracy is to survive and Pakistan function as a responsible state, instead of a Banana Republic, where law is applied selectively and ruling elite, from civil and khaki establishment or the political elite allowed to break laws, plunder the state and make a mockery of our constitution.
