A police officer’s son attempted suicide on Wednesday after slaughtering his six-month-old daughter. Mustansar, whose father is the station house office (SHO) of Bahwalnagar Police Station, slit his daughter’s throat with a sharp knife and then cut his own wrist and neck. The infant died on the spot, but he was found bleeding and was shifted to Lahore Hospital in critical condition. Police said that Mustansar was distressed after his wife’s death a few days ago, which could be a reason for his insane act.
