Shahbaz will not tolerate negligence

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said red tapes should not be allowed to become a hurdle in the execution of public welfare projects and officers showing negligence in the completion of uplift projects will be held accountable.
He said public welfare and provision of basic amenities to the masses was the government’s responsibility and the pace of development projects should also be accelerated.
He was addressing a meeting on Monday to review the pace of ongoing development projects under Special Packages for big cities and districts, Southern Development Programme and Annual Development Programme. Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, Provincial Minister Abdul Ghafoor, Advisor Zakiya Shahnawaz, Members National Assembly Tehmina Daultana, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Khuram Dastagir Khan, chairman Planning & Development and secretaries of various departments attended the meeting. The CM also presided over the first meeting of the Board of Directors of Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab Limited (ECSP), on Monday Planning & Development chairman, Finance secretary and other members of the Board were also present. Addressing the meeting, the CM said the ECSP had been set up for the speedy and quality completion of development projects in the province and that the ECSP should be made a state-of-the-art company.
