Lahore Police, with the cooperation of traders, inaugurated the first Central Reporting Centre in order to address public grievances regarding registration of FIRs on Monday. Capital City Police Officer Ahmed Raza Tahir along with Lahore DIG Operations Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, Anjuman-e-Tajiran Mehboob President Sarki and all divisional SPs of Operations Wing inaugurated the CRC at the office of Model Town SP.
Police officials said the CRC was established by the police on the orders of Punjab Police Inspector General Javed Iqbal, who wanted to improve the impression of the police on public. Officials said five more CRCs would be set up in Lahore. Separate counters have been set up for men and women, officials said, adding that a station had also been allotted to a dispatch clerk while a legal adviser would also be available to provide legal opinion to public. Sirki, while talking to reporters, said the traders would continue to support the police. The CCPO said the CM was providing police with all the facilities to improve their performance.
