Countrywide lawyers’ strike to condemn Warriach’s murder

The lawyers’ community on Tuesday observed complete strike across the country over the killing of their colleague former Punjab Bar Council (PBC) member Nasrullah Warraich.
PBC had announced to hold protests and observe black day after Nasrullah Warraich was shot dead by some unknown people outside his house in Gulshan-e-Ravi area of Lahore.
In Lahore, the lawyers staged protest over the murder of their colleague Nasrullah Warraich and did not appear in the Lahore High Court and other lower courts. The lawyers also observed black day by hoisting black flags hoisted at the bar rooms, wearing black arm ribbons and raising slogans against killing of their colleague.
The lawyers’ bodied have demanded the government to immediately arrest the accused involved in the murder of Warraich and bring them to justice. Moreover, they termed this incident as complete negligence and inefficiency of the Punjab police.
The lawyers’ community of Islamabad/Rawalpindi also observed complete strike, expressing solidarity with the Lahore lawyers, against the killing of Nasrullah Waraich. The lawyers did not appear in the courts and kept their chambers closed in the protest.
The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) also observed strike on the call of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).
