The employees of the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Board of Management protested for their demands on Monday.
They gathered on Queen’s Road in front of the hospitals, carrying banners and raising slogans against the government for not fulfilling their demands. They also blocked the road to all kinds of traffic for sometime. One of the employees said the employees were being discriminated against, as the government had not given them a permanent status while options were also being considered to lay them off. They said they were the ‘backbone’ of the health delivery system and the government should regularise them imemdiatley.
Separately, Jevay Pakistan Party workers also protested against inflation, electricity and gas outages in front of the Lahore High Court building.
