The Session Court of Islamabad adjourned on Tuesday the hearing of a criminal case registered against Pakistani-American businessmen Mansoor Ijaz, the central character of memo scandal episode.
According to a private television channel, the hearing was adjourned due to lawyers’ nation-wide strike against the murder of their senior colleague Nasrullah Waraich in Lahore.
On Monday, Waraich, a 70-year-old Supreme Court lawyer was gunned down by unidentified people, in what police believed a target killing, at his doorstep in G-Block of Gulshan-i-Ravi, Lahore.
All bar associations and councils observed today’s strike, hampering activities in lower and higher courts of the country.
Before the adjourning, additional sessions judge Syed Wajahat Hassan heard today the petition filed by Gulzar Khalid Satti who has also decided to approach Supreme Court’s commission probing into the scandal.
