An FIR of the stampede in which three female students were killed and five critically injured was registered on Tuesday against the college administration, nominating the college’s principal among others in the case. Moreover, two administration officials were also arrested by the police.
Police said that on the complaint of deceased Mazeen’s father Naseem Abbass, police have registered a case of accident against the college administration nominating Principal Agha Tahir, Security In-charge Major Saleem, Security Supervisor and others.
Police have arrested security in-charge and security supervisor immediately after registering the case, while college’s principal has not yet been arrested.
On Monday, an Atif Aslam concert turned into a tragedy when three girls were killed while five critically injured in a stampede. The concert was held at the Alhamra Cultural Complex where Atif Aslam had just ended his performance. When the girls tried to exit the venue after the event, someone closed the door. At that time a stampede started resulting in three young girls stumbling and getting crushed.
According to reports, the deceased girls were students aged between 17-22. They were Maheen Naseem, 17, Sara Nawaz, 22 and Nimra, 16.
There were reportedly between 6000 and 7000 girls at the concert, well beyond the venue’s capacity.
Earlier, Maheen’s father Naseem Abbas blamed the organizer, Punjab Group of Colleges’ administration, for their mismanagement which caused the tragedy.
“Why did they allowed more students in the complex when there was not enough space?” he asked.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and ordered for an immediate inquiry.

  1. besides the stampede, I can’t believe our brainless police thought baton charging the crowd was a good idea. Do they even think about things before just whacking away? Monkeys with sticks. It probably exacerbated the situation even further.

    • This is the only training they have had in crowd management.

Besides when politicians interfere in the matters of policing their output declines.

  2. My sister was one of the five critically injured students. The Media is not highlighting the extent of damage done to the students. The girl on the next bed to hers had a fractured Spinal Cord! Two had fractured legs and their faces were beyong recognition. My sister is on oxygen right now. They need to be held responsible! The cant just shrug this under the rug. The guards baton charged the girls and they failed to open the gates. They opened them when a huge pressure had already built up by the panicked girls, scared of the guards. Students flooded through the gates and those who fell got crushed.

  3. persons named in FIR must deal with iron hands as it not minute incedent. Adminiteration of Al humra complex is also equal sharer in the offence as they allowed students more than its capasity.

  4. why not tycoon mian amir , but he will never bcz this class is above law like zardari n gilani n nawaz sharif

  5. My sister was also there Thanks to Allah that she manage to safe her life but her friend she died and they both fell during stampede ….We all are here in Saudi Arabia we just send our sister in good hands for study …but just imagine this is the good hands ..after two days nobody will remember about this accident….what about the media this is our independent media….These girls wese innocent…my sister stil in shock her mom is weaping and crying since last night….just imagine the feelings of those whs lost their daughters ……plz Pakistan we are still watiing for only one thing which can benefit your people…we are being abused by other societies because we are responsible …….

  6. ITS A TRAGEDY WHICH DOESNOT COME WIT PIRORINTIMATION.SUCH FUNCTIONS SHOULD BE BANED OR AT LAST HOLD IN OPEN GROUNDS WITHIN COLLEGE PREMISES.MAY ALLAH REST IN PEACE THE DECEASED GIRLS .

  7. Very sad incident… one thing i fail to under stand that y girls ran after Atif??? wat they want from him?? R They all crazy?? is he that much big star that took 5 girls lives??? TOO Sad for girls attitude too

  8. This is not the first incident, there are lots of such incidents used to happen in our day to day life,Though education is growing but lack of descipline creates such things. When we are in Daubai,we are very seriously organise ourselves, when we enter in our land again such things happen and we cannot blame on anyone. We have to create and desicpline our lines to avoid these happenings

  9. Its time Pakistan get into civilized world and take notice of this incident and punish regardless of social status this person who allow this to happen, even if it was owner of tv channel or mayor of Lahore, when it comes to law he should be put in jail for allowing this to happen, if law has two standards one for poor and one for rich then stop being a country and beg india to take over, is this the reason this country was made so there should not be any account for negligence of stupid peoples incompetent actions. GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN TAKE NOTICE AND RENDER JUSTICE NOW BY PUTTING THIS MAYOR PERSON IN JAIL

    • what will u say about the pakistanis n muslims killed in america? did ur police or govmnt took any action agints the guilty parties. how many inocent killed in result of droun attaks? do u have any idea about that or u dont even want to think about this.

  10. This sad incident of stampedge shows lot of irresponsibilities we often have in our programme/Conserts or in any function. But when we save(or these kind of incident dont occur) we dont care about our management .
Exit policy is normally not planned in our events .Mob rushed towads gate and got struck with each othe on door .And then the only guards on which we believe they will handle the situation the dont even know or have training how to seperate or controll educated crowd and a normall one .
I have not allowed my sister to go on such an events. She also student of P .C.

  11. Its saddening to know such a tragedy happened. I hope we do something about this so such a tragedy can not happen again, or at least minimize it.
