The Bangladesh Cricket Board has requested its government to give approval for a security team to visit Pakistan to assess the arrangements for a proposed tour by the team in April. A senior Pakistan Cricket Board official said the BCB directors have also given approval for the security team’s visit to Pakistan ahead of the proposed series. The official said the board had to wait for clearance from its government before finalising the schedule for the security team’s trip.
The BCB President Mustafa Kamal said they will now wait for advice and directions from the government as it was a matter involving security. The BCB contacted its government after the PCB officially invited it to send its team for a scheduled Future Tour Program tour in April. The BCB has made it clear to the PCB that while it is willing to send team to Pakistan, it would depend on clearance from its government and the security team that visits Pakistan for an inspection tour. The Pakistan government has promised foolproof security measures for the Bangladesh team.
