A policeman returning home after completing his duty at the United States Consulate died of gunshots at the Mai Kolachi Road late Sunday night.
Some police sources said that Sub-Inspector Anwar Sheikh was gunned down by unidentified culprits, whereas others were of the view that Sheikh had fallen victim to stray bullets.
The sub-inspector’s body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where the doctors informed the police that Sheikh had suffered three bullets in the upper and lower parts of his torso.
Baldia senior superintendent of police said that the bullets recovered from the body of Sheikh, who was with the foreign security department of the police, were fired from a Kalashnikov.
