Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has warned that if the government tries to take any action against the Supreme Court and the chief justice under the pretext of democracy and sovereignty of parliament, his party would take to the streets.
Addressing a press conference along with Majlis-e-Wahadatul Muslimeen Central Secretary General Raja Nasir Abbas during his visit to the office, Khan said there was no reason to keep more than 150,000 people in jail if a letter could not be written to the Swiss authorities against President Asif Zardari.
He said there was no harm if people voted for the enforcement of Islamic system but enforcement of any system forcibly would be undemocratic. He said his party would try to enforce the system of a welfare state on the pattern of Scandinavian counties which was close to the Islamic system.
Khan said many prominent leaders from major parties including ministers were interested in joining the PTI
and despite interaction with them, the PTI had stopped their entry for the time being.
“I have formed a political committee to decide about who should join the party,” he said.
He said no party was above differences, which was a part of politics and if there were any differences in his party, it would be his duty to end them.
Khan said his party was working to unite the people and did not favour doing politics in the name of Islam. Without naming Fazlur Rehman, Khan said “a Maulana uses Islam’s name in politics and becomes part of every government”. He said Islam preached humanity, equality and justice. He said he wanted a foreign policy that protected its vital interests.
The PTI chief said the poor in
the country were being crushed
under inflation while the affluent were getting richer.
He said some people were exploiting the masses in the name of provincial deprivation to attain their political goals, adding that Balochistan was being treated like a colony.
To a question, Khan said an attack was expected on the chief justice and keeping view that danger, he had not convened the meeting of CEC before time.

  1. The mis-governance in the country speaks of loads and loads of corruption. We know this government and the president are a source of the corruption in addition to the corrupts guys from Military and Judiciary, but they cant be allowed to hold the system hostage.

  2. When Imran Khan talks about affluent class getting richer and richer. I think he is definitely talking about himself.

    • HE KNOWS HES RICH BUT HE WILL NEVER BE AS RICH AS ZARDARI AND NAWAZ AND HE DOESN'T PRETEND TO BE POOR..HE ALSO GIVES MORE THAN ANY OTHER POLITICIAN.

  3. Such over confident guys do nothing and end up being thrashed like he was in Punjab university. He is naive and immature. No plans and only talking all the time. He will prove to be worst than Musharraf.

    • at least give him a chance…he has more educated, hes more honest, logical and trustworthy than any other politician right now! and he does have plans..once u get rid of corruption, tax the rich and stop exporting all of pakistans natural treasures overseas…it will be a huge change! pakistan can be a very rich country if managed by people who have the righ intentions for the country and not there wallet!

  4. Get out on the streets, march against the injustice and load shedding . Let us kill these bastards who themselves live the life of luxury while we the people suffer every minute

  5. Dear Imran,
Some times to win an election you have to go to the lions den and listen rather than lecture! What do the industialist want. I hope you will not do the "bhutto "on them.! You have to win their confidence and assure them that their investments are safe. Have you any plan or addressed the chamber of commerce.? The people who are coming out inthe streets to support you will have to learn to be patient. Rome was not built in a day.
You quote Scandanavian model. I know it very well since i live there. It has been tried in other countries but has failed . Pakistan does not have the resources and the background to enable such a model to suceed. We are rich in manpower but our production is poor. Do you think the feudal landlords will willingly give up their land?
Let us not chase pie in the sky but be realist.
Sometimes the revolution tends to eat its own children. Be careful what you promise. You are an academicer and not a born politician.
Can you kindly present to us your economical advisers and other men and women in"grey suits" who advise you. We will vote for a party headed by Imran but would like to know your chosen few. Best of luck.

    • Nice point. But we know that Imran is a remarkable person and is working hard to put a very capable team when he is in power, Inshallah. He must be trusted and given a chance, i personally have no doubt that he is very capable person and given a chance will meet his promise, he is a fighter all the way. we need a fighter like him to fight mafias like zardari and nawaz shareef.

  6. Imran Khan is the lone hope to secure this country from these corrupt political mafias. Inshallah we will vote him to power.

  7. i noticed some people here just want to propagate lies about imran khan , n most of them r doing that for their personal interests because they dont want to lose their personal influence in their neighbour hoods . they know that if imran khan came in power , he would not accept status quo. when our country is in transition from illeteracy to literacy , y these some supporters of status quo dont let people to support Imran khan . let me tell u one thing , they r scared of Imran Khan ,, they r doing their best to defame him . but i guess , Game is Over.. more they will lie about imran khan more he will get stronger. So carry on propagating bad things about imran khan , he will only get stronger with that. Pakistan Zindabad , Imran Khan Zinda bad
