A 50-years-old man and his 25-years old wife were gunned down over property issues in the Baghbanpura police Area at about noon on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Ghulam Mustafa and his wife as Neelam Shehzadi and were the residents of Karol Village. The police said few months ago deceased Ghulam Mustafa sold his house to one Shabbir, a local resident of the said area, but Ghulam Mustafa did not allow him to the possession of the house. After entering into deal with Shabbir, Ghulam Mustafa couple of months later sold his house to one Ibrar, another local of the area. Ghulam Mustafa after finalising deal with Ibrar, locked his house and escaped to Narrowal. Both Ibrar and Shabbir not only filed an application for the registration of a case of fraud against Ghulam Mustafa but they also traced Ghulam Mustafa and forced him to return to the city. Four days ago Ghulam Mustafa reached city along with his second wife Neelam Shehzadi some four days ago in order to settle the dispute of property. Ghulam Mustafa and his wife choose to stay at Ibrar’s house on their return. On the day of incident, Ghulam Mustafa was settling matter with Ibrar and his accomplice Afzaal during which he got involved in a clash with Ibrar and Afzaal. Infuriated Ibrar and Afzaal then took their guns out and opened fire on Ghulam Mustafa and his wife, killing them on the spot.
MURDERER GUNNED DOWN: A proclaimed offender of a murder case was gunned down by his rivals in the Harbanspura Police Area on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Usman Sarwar alias Noona resident of Zarar Shaheed Road. The police said Usman Sarwar had an old enmity with his cousin namely Akbar and Usman had killed Akbar’s brother namely Javed alias Jaida some five moths ago. A case number 985/2011 was registered against Usman in North Cantonment Police. On the day of incident Usman Sarwar was standing outside a Pan Shop located in Tajpura Area when two motorcyclists approached Usman and opened fires on him, killing him on the spot.
MAN DIES OF COLD: Shahdara Town police recovered a body of an unidentified man from its limits on Sunday. Some locals spotted the body lying near a CNG Station in Rachna Town and informed the police. Police suspected that the man, yet to be identified, died of cold weather.
NHMP organises cycle rally: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) in coordination with Taleem Foundation arranged a “Pedal for Peace” cycle rally from Islamabad to Lahore, which culminated at Minar-e-Pakistan, to promote message of peace and tolerance in the society and create road safety awareness’ among the messes.A group of 13 cyclists started their trip from Faisal Mosque Islamabad on January 5 via GT Road. Officers of Mobile Education Unit and Road Safety Institute received the cyclists at the monument. They also set up a special stall there, containing briefing pamphlets, booklets and handbills besides the banners containing messages for the people.
