Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to the United States Sherry Rehman arrived in Washington to assume her responsibilities at an important time for relations between the two countries.
Sherry Rehman will pay a courtesy call on U.S. State Department officials next week after taking charge on January 9 as Pakistan’s top diplomat in Washington, embassy officials said.
Embassy officials also said that Sherry Rehman would meet US President Barack Obama on January 18 to present her credentials.
Sherry Rehman has been appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to the US after her predecessor, Husain Haqqani, resigned for his alleged involvement in the Memogate scandal.
