The expatriate Pakistani writers and intellectuals are not only the real ambassadors of the country but are also spreading a message of love and affection in the entire world. They are also making efforts to promote patriotism and a soft image of the country through their writings.
These views were expressed by Florida-based renowned Kashmiri author, intellectual and international award winning poet, Sabir Hussain Sabir while speaking as chief guest at a reception hosted by the Literary Organisation ‘Dhandhara’ here at the Anjuman Faiz-ul-Islam at the Faizabad Campus on Saturday.
Sabir, who currently resides in Florida, is on a month-long visit to Pakistan. He said he was writing a book on the history, culture and personalities of the people of the Sadozai tribe. The book’s English version ‘A string of the Sadozais Pearls’ will be published from New York while the Urdu edition will be published from Pakistan. In addition to this book, a collection of his essays ‘Ganjina-e-Afkar’, collections of Urdu poetry ‘Dashat-e-Tanhai’ and ‘Hijr key Baad’ as well as a collection of his English poetry ‘Look Out’ have already been published and were appreciated in literary circles.
He said the US government had given him citizenship and cash awards for his English poetry published in 2001.
