A Sialkot-bound flight of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was hit by thunder but fortunately, landed safely at the Lahore airport on Saturday.
According to sources, said PK396 flight was hit by lightning near Lahore an hour after taking off from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport for Sialkot.
They said the thunder could not cause a significant damage, however, the plane’s internal electronic system was partially disturbed. With the presence of mind and outstanding expertise, the pilot controlled the unexpected situation and landed the plane at the Lahore Airport, averting a massive tragedy and keeping all the passengers safe.
