Wife of former president Parvez Musharraf on Saturday challenged the orders issued by an Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi, which had declared her spouse proclaimed offender in Benazir assassination case.
Musharraf, who has been living in exile for nearly three years in the UK and Dubai, has been declared proclaimed offender after he failed to appear in the court to answers to many question about the 2007 Benazir’s murder.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had sought the court’s order to summon Musharraf as his regime had been responsible for security of Benazir Bhutto. But Musharraf failed to appear despite issuance of summons and arrest warrants.
Begum Sehba Musharraf while challenging the orders took the plea in her petition that Parvez Musharraf had gone abroad before initiation of Benazir assassination case. Wrong sections of law were invoked in declaring Musharraf a proclaimed offender, she added. Section 87 was imposed in the case while section 97 was applicable to him, she said.
The court adjourned the hearing till January 21. A five-member legal team led by renowned lawyer Abdul Hafiz Pirzada has been set up to defend Pervez Musharraf in the cases on his return to Pakistan. The team comprises Khalid Ranjha and Fawad Chaudhry, Nayab Gardezi while Chaudhry Faisal would assist the team.
According to Fawad Chaudhry, Pervez Musharraf would leave for Pakistan on January 29 and would arrive at the Islamabad airport on January, 31. As many as 250 journalists and lawyers would also accompany him. On January 17, he would fly to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and would also meet King Abdullah.

m not favouring anyone here. Policies good are bad are debatable. If you find something WRONG, few may find same very pOLICY Right. If Musharraf is to be Trailed. He should be Trialed on charges of CORRUPTION, FAVORITISM, (Emp own siblings on various Posts like current govt did and destroyed all institutions like PIA, RAILWAY, STEEL MILL, OGDCL.). They will not find a single charge against him.
Today Media barks against Musharraf because media is being funded by those political families who are ruling/ looting Pak since inception. Thy are funding media because Musharraf is a threat to our dynastic political system. For God sake, let us get rid of Nwaz Shareef and Bhutto family

There is no basis for either this or any other case that has been filed against Musharraf.
No one can damage Musharraf. Allah is with him; Allah saved him from many attacks. Media liberated by Musharraf is barking against him. I am sure our hero will come out clean to disappoint corruption supporters.
