All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief and former military ruler Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf has hoped that he would be acquitted after two to three court hearings after coming to the country on 25th or 27th of this month.
Speaking at an event late on Thursday, he said all cases against him were registered on political basis, adding that he was not held accused by any court under any article of the constitution.
“The court issued arrest warrants against me due to my failure to appear before the court in Benazir Bhutto and Akbar Bugti murder cases,” he said. Musharraf said he would face all cases registered against him in the country and according to the law, he hoped that he would be acquitted after two or three court hearing.
The former military ruler said that putting his life on risk he would land in Pakistan on January 25 or 27, adding that he would resolve all crises faced by the country and the people. He said he would again pave the way for development in the country.
Musharraf claimed that about 500 to 600 people from all over the world would accompany him on his return, adding that he was ready to face the courts.
He said he had always played with danger in his life and he had practically played with death in the battleground during his army services, but had never been afraid.
“I would return to Pakistan because people of the country need me in these critical times,” he said.
He said he wanted to return to Pakistan one-and-a-half years ago, but his party was not formed at that time and he wanted to resolve the crises facing the country under one platform.
The former military ruler said the masses were supporting and waiting for him in Pakistan, while a handful of people were not supporting him. Musharraf said the power of the people was with him.
“I will come to power through the power of masses, not with the help of any foreign power, the ISI or army,” he added.
To a question, Musharraf said two major political parties had completely failed to serve the masses, due to which the people were joining and supporting PTI chief Imran Khan as a third option.
He said state institutions had been destroyed due to wrong policies of the current democratic government, adding that rich people were fleeing from the country and the poor were left to face problems.
“I am not a common man, I receive full protocol everywhere in the world whenever I visit any foreign country,” said Musharraf, adding that he would contact those countries for strengthening the economy of Pakistan when he came to power.
He said he would go back from Pakistan if the people did not support him.
