Responding to the petition, the judge imposed a fine on the SHO and issued directions to the Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) to initiate a departmental inquiry against the SHO and report to the court within one week. During hearing of the case, the judge asked the petitioner how much he had paid his lawyer to file the case in LHC? The petitioner said he had paid Rs 35,000 to his lawyer and judge expressing regret said, “This is how the police wastes people’s money by not taking action on their applications.” The judge said the SHO should bear the cost of the case that was filed due to his non-cooperation.
