An additional district and sessions judge (AD&SJ) on Friday summoned the Racecourse Police station house officer (SHO) to appear before the court on January 13 in a petition seeking the court order for getting the copy of First Information Report (FIR) against former chief minister Dost Khosa.
AD&SJ Chaudhry Nazeer Ahmad passed the order on application filed by Misal Khan, father of Dost Khosa’s ex-wife Sapna Khan, and sought para-wise comments and report from the SHO till Jan 13.
The petitioner’s counsel Muhammad Azhar Siddique, appearing before the court, said that Dost Muhammad Khosa was deliberately delaying the matter to destroy evidences.
He pleaded that it was necessary to take mobile phone details of Sapna Khan and Dost Muhammad Khosa for strengthening the case but they could not be obtained from mobile companies after six months have passed.
He alleged that Dost Khosa made a fake birth certificate of Sapna Khan and submitted a copy of it to the police. He said that the birth certificate indicated Lahore as birth place of Sapna Khan whereas she was not born in Lahore. He pleaded the court to direct the police for registration of case against Khosa over submitting a fake birth certificate.
The court expressed annoyance over the non-appearance of the Racecourse SHO despite being summoned. A police sub-inspector informed the court that the SHO was sick, therefore, could not appear. However, the petitioner’s counsel submitted that the police did not give importance to the court orders.
Khosa’s counsel Zubair Khalid, through an application, requested the court to adjourn the case as petitions regarding the matter were pending before the Lahore High Court. The petitioner’s counsel opposed the request of Khosa’s counsel and contended that the petitions pending before the LHC were related to the registration of kidnapping-cum-murder case, whereas the present application sought a copy of the FIR.
After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court summoned the SHO on January 13 and also directed the counsels to give arguments on next hearing.
According to details, Misal Khan filed the said petition contending that the police officials had informed him that an FIR had been registered against Dost Khosa as per the court directions, however a copy of the FIR could not be provided to him as it had been sealed for unknown reasons. He contended that the respondents, including Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO), Punjab Police inspector general (IG) and the Racecourse SHO were legally bound to provide him a copy of the FIR.

  1. Dost Khosa is a drunkard, rapist, gambler and a killer. As an ex-Aitchisonian, I know that he is an evil person. He once set-alight the car of our head-teacher by throwing petrol on it. There is no justice in Pakistan. I feel sorry for the poor woman who was fooled to believe that she would have a good life….
