Former captain Younus Khan has said that he has never seen a side as good as the current Pakistan team and the credit of this unity goes to Misbahul Haq. Speaking at a function organised to celebrate the Pakistan cricket team’s glorious 2011, Younus said that it was a great thing to call upon the team and appreciate its achievements. “I have played in several countries and also played county cricket but I have never seen any team like the Pakistan team. I have played under several captains but found Misbah as the best captain to play with. He has transformed the team into an outfit everyone wanted to see,” said Younus. “It’s a great team and full of talent. Pakistan has always produced world class cricketers particularly bowlers. When we found Mohammad Aamir, we believed that he would continue to play for the country for the next 10 years but that unfortunate incident of spot-fixing led the Pakistan cricket to doom. But the way this young team has lifted itself it remarkable. The efforts of Aizaz Cheema, Wahab Riaz and Junaid Khan are commendable,” he said. “Everyone in the team is hungry to perform and contribute as much as he can,” he added. He also praised the struggle of Umar Gul after he was injured. “It was his hard work that made him the leading bowler of the team,” said Younus.
