Second day: Rumpus in NA over issue of new provinces

For the second day, National Assembly witnessed pandemonium when members of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) threatened to boycott session over non-inclusion of resolution regarding new province issue in the agenda, a private TV channel reported.
During session, MQM leader Hyder Abbas Rizvi expressed concerns over keeping the new province resolution, off the agenda.
On the other hand, ANP leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour while opposing Rizvi’s remarks said decision on separate province was liability of the provincial assemblies, adding that decision taken in NA would be assumed as unconstitutional.
Federal Minister Khurshid Shah stressed that MQM aimed at sabotaging the western province issue.
On this, Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi said no resolution or bill had been submitted by the provincial governments, due to which, the issue had not been included in the agenda.
