Memo scandal: Mansoor Ijaz submits BlackBerry PIN

Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz on Friday submitted his Blackberry personal identification number (PIN) to the commission probing the memogate scam and also urged ex-ambassador to the US, Hussain Haqqani to submit PIN as well, a private TV channel reported.
Each BlackBerry device is assigned a unique PIN which allows identification of each BlackBerry phone to support direct PIN-to-PIN messaging.
On Monday, the commission directed authorities to obtain the BlackBerry’s conversation record between Mansoor Ijaz and former envoy to the US accused of crafting the memo, Husain Haqqani.
However, Research In Motion (RIM) vowed on Tuesday to defend the legal privacy rights of BlackBerry users amid judicial probe into the scandal.
The highly controversial memo was allegedly an attempt by Hussain Haqqani, a close aide to President Asif Ali Zardari, to enlist the Unites State’s help to head off a military coup in Pakistan.
