A Group of female students of the International Islamic University (IIU), Islamabad, who had won several sports competitions, met IIUI Rector Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik on Friday.
The rector congratulated the students upon winning various competitions and said that the IIU always encouraged the students to participate in extracurricular activities. IIU President Dr Mumtaz Ahmad and IIU Vice President Dr Sahibzada Sajid-ur-Rehman were also present on the occasion.
Professor Fateh Malik said that around 21,000 students were studying in the IIU, 9,000 of them being females. He said that the IIU had decided to construct a gymnasium for the female students to provide them with the equal opportunity to participate in the extracurricular activities.
He said further that the IIU had planned to acquire the services of professional coaches for various sports and would arrange extra classes for the students who had participated in the sports competitions to enable them to complete their curriculum.
