Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad asked the Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) on Friday to play an effective role for curbing street crimes.
He was talking to the newly notified CPLC members, who, along with the committee’s chief Ahmed Chinoy and other office-bearers, called on him at the Governor’s House.
Ebad said the CPLC has played an exemplary role in controlling kidnappings for ransom. “The common man is affected because of street crimes and the CPLC should come to the fore in this regard in collaboration with the law enforcement agencies,” he added.
He said with the help of a database, the available technology and surveys regarding crimes, the CPLC should play a role towards elimination of street crimes.
The governor asked the CPLC members to enhance their social welfare activities and venture into academic fields also and be active in adopting government schools.
