Major gas pipeline blown up

A major pipeline supplying gas to Sindh from Sui town was blown up in district Jaffarabad, some 320 kilometres south-east of Quetta, in the early hours of Wednesday. Unidentified saboteurs attached explosives to the pipeline, measuring 18 inches in diameter, in the Pat Feeder area near the Sindh-Balochistan border and blew it up. As a result, the gas supply was suspended from Sui town to the neighbouring province of Sindh.
Anayatullah Ismail, the spokesmen of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL), confirmed the incident and said the pipeline was injecting around 114mmcfd of gas into the company’s network every day.
