A China-based company plans to begin shipping a realistic-looking Steve Jobs action figure in February. It remained to be seen whether Apple will take to the courts to block In Icons from selling the 30.4-centimeter (one foot) tall dolls crafted in the image of the renowned California company’s late co-founder.
An In Icons website on Tuesday featured images of the jointed figure in classic Jobs poses accompanied with quotes, including “The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” The $99 dolls depict Jobs with a closely cropped beard and his familiar round “John Lennon” style eyeglasses.
Accessories available at extra cost included his trademark sneakers, blue jeans, and black turtle neck sweater. Last year, the maker of iPhones, iPads, iPods and Macintosh computers blocked the sale of unauthorised Steve Jobs bobble-head dolls made by a different company in China. Jobs died on October 5, 2011 at the age of 56 after a years-long battle with cancer.
